HOW DOES THE IN SITU PROMOTIONS LOOK LIKE

PROBABLY MOST OF THE OFFICERS MIGHT BE LOOKING FOR, HOW DOES THE IN SITU PROMOTIONS LOOK LIKE AND WHAT EXACTLY YOU WILL BE DOING. THE FOLLOWING ARE THE SOME OF THE HIGHLIGHTS OF THE IN SITU PROMOTION:

1. OFFICERS WORKING IN A PARTICULAR POST/POSTS WILL BE PROMOTED TO NEXT HIGHER POST AFTER A STIPULATED PERIOD OF SERVICE.
2. HE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK IN THE SAME POST HE HELD BEFORE SUCH    PROMOTION.
3. HE WILL GET ALL THE BENEFITS OF PROMOTIONAL POST.
4. THE PROMOTION IS PURELY ON PERSONAL BASIS TO THE OFFICER.
5. THE POST HELD BY THE OFFICER, SHALL STAND TEMPORARILY UPGRADED TO THE NEXT HIGHER GRADE AND WILL BE REVERTED BACK, ONCE THE OFFICER VACATES IT.
6. IT MEANS YOU WILL CARRY YOUR UPGRADED POST WHEREVER YOU STAND 
   TRANSFERRED IN A LOWER POST.
7. YOU WILL CONTINUE IN THE SAME PLACE IN THE ORIGINAL SENIORITY LIST FOR 
    FUNCTIONAL PROMOTION.

That means he cannot perform functions of Supdt. as envisaged in the Act, nor can he perform administrative duties of higher post.That means he continue to be shown under the Inspectors seniority list.That means he is not conferred with Gazetted rank.That means you are getting nothing from in situ promotion. Yet we are for it.

LET ME EXPLAIN IN-SITU
1.We will not get increase in Pay as we had already got it through ACP/MACPS.
2.We will continue to perform the same type of work.
3.We will continue to salute the juniormost examiners of Customs junior by several years.
4.We will be called as horses, but get the treatment from the Department and assessees as applicable for donkeys.
5.The only one advantage: We can at best fool the friends/Society/neighbours that we are elevated but our own conscience will not forgive that.
6.In short, the banyan is not allowed to grow as the magnificent tree. Instead, it is made to shrink as the Bonsai in the CBEC garden.
We are fortunate. Which Department will give the privilege for the cadre to salute the juniormost officers???
Let us happily celebrate Excise Day with our family members. The Administration will give us free food on that day. Let us enjoy the sumptuous food. Let us merrily sing and dance in praise of all the honours showered on us. What else we want?

But in CBEC, top leaders of all associations were attended a session like a Cinema show in closed & dark hall and returned empty hand from the invitation of Officiating Chairman CBEC.
See the difference between two Officiating Chairmans of CBDT & CBEC.
One point is clear that Officiating Chairman CBDT is one for all IT staff but Officiating Chairman CBEC is one to leaders but none to CE staff.

Sir this is a classic case of in-situ promotion. One of my office staff is promoted to UDC wef 10 July 2013 under authy of letter dated 12 July 2013.The letter states that the pay & allowances will be applicable from the date of assumption of duties. The indl is at the same post and doing the same job.The letter for promotion was recd to dept on 19 July 2013.Now what will be the effective date for pay & allowances.Kindly guide.Thanks.
