IT APPEARS THAT THE BOARD IS UNDER PRESSURE FROM THE PMO AS WELL AS FINANCE MINISTRY ON THE PREVAILING SITUATION IN CENTRAL EXCISE DEPARTMENT. FOR THE FIRST TIME THE ASSOCIATIONS HAVE BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN MAKING THE BOARD TO SERIOUSLY LOOK INTO OUR PROBLEMS, BY APPLYING PRESSURE DIRECTLY AND THROUGH THE PMO AS WELL AS FM. IT IS UNDERSTOOD THAT THE BOARD HAS CLEARED THE FILE ON 'IN-SITU' PROMOTIONS AND SHORTLY THE PROPOSALS MAY BE FORWARDED TO DEPARTMENT OF EXPENDITURE WHICH IS THE MAIN HURDLE. IF THE DEPT. OF EXPENDITURE CLEARS IT, PROBABLY IT MAY EASILY SAIL THROUGH DOPT.
THE CASE IN SUPREME COURT DID NOT COME UP ON 2ND FEBRUARY. SINCE THE ADVOCATE HAS MENTIONED IT, ANOTHER DATE MAY BE GIVEN.

First time, you emerged from the umbrella of aiceia and forwarded a decent note on the out come of court proceedings.
Have a faith on the good wishes of the whole cadre and do not panic or try to make sensational news out of it just to serve the purpose of your masters.

I take it a pleasure to inform that the members of AICEIA Trichy Branch have contributed a sum of 91000 (Rupees ninetyone thousand only) towards Supreme Court expenses in case of 5400 Grade Pay to ACP Inspectors.

Wonderful, it shows the commitment of the constituents of the cadre. If properly led the cadre can do anything.Tell Mr. Kaushik not to run away and start the blog. I think that sufficient money for Supreme Court case has been collected.
1. In-situ promotions will not cost any expenditure for the Department and therefore, there cannot be any problem in getting the approval from Expenditure Department.
2.In-situ promotions will not provide any relief as the real problem of saluting the junior most Customs examiners will continue to happen.
3. AICEIA has not announced any agitational programme as has been done by Supdts association.
4. We should release a full page advertisement and Press Note on the Excise Day.
5.Excise day is our weapon. if we miss that, none can save the cadre of Insprs and Supdts.
It is shown in the flash news that the file regarding Rs.5,400/- issue has been sent to DOPT from the Department of Expenditure. The details of the same has not been published. Please publish the details.
